Happy 30th Birthday to Jordan! We had such a fun week celebrating this monumental year!
Earlier in the week, I baked some carrot cake cupcakes to surprise Jordan with a weekend getaway! He came home to this on our kitchen table, and was so excited to find out we were going to Vegas to celebrate!
The night before his birthday, we went to Benihana for dinner. It was Jordan's first time eating there and it is such a fun place! The food was amazing and our cook was very entertaining.
They love celebrating birthdays at Benihana! Jordan got his meal for free, a birthday ice cream sundae, and they gave us this picture!
After work on Friday, we drove down to Vegas! We got in after midnight, and stayed with my parents. My Mom was so sweet to wait up for us! Saturday morning, we had a big breakfast with the family with fresh bagels from my favorite bagel shop. We then went swimming and shopping at the Fashion Show Mall!
After shopping, we went over to the Vdara to check into our room. When we were checking in, I made sure to tell the hotel receptionist that we were celebrating Jordan's 30th birthday. Once she heard that, she said that she wanted to call the hotel manager. After calling her manager, she told us she was upgrading our room to the Premium Suite with a view!
Our room was absolutely amazing, and I think the nicest hotel Jordan or I have stayed in. The room was about 1,000 square feet with a full kitchen, dining room, living room, king sized bed, and beautiful bathroom. Our favorite part was the entire length of the room was windows! The view of the strip was so cool!
(Stole this pic from their website :) )
After checking in our room, we headed over to the Cravings Buffet at the Mirage. Yum... the food was so delicious! We especially loved the prime rib and desserts.
A sample of the desserts we tried... cupcakes, apple crumble, chocolate mousse, red velvet cake, etc.
We then had tickets to the 7pm show of Blue Man Group! Neither of us had seen the show and did not know what to expect. We were definitely entertained and enjoyed every second!
After the show, we walked around the strip, stopping inside the Venetian Hotel.
It was fun walking inside the Venetian after being in the REAL Venice only a few weeks ago!
Look, the Rialto Bridge!
(REAL Rialto Bridge in Venice from June 16th, 2013)
We couldn't believe the Gondola Ride prices inside the Venetian! $80 per person for 10 minutes. We paid 120 Euros for 6 people, for a 40 minute ride in the real Venice canals!
It wouldn't be a real Vegas weekend without running into a wedding! We were walking back to our hotel when we saw this wedding happening practically right on the street. We had to stay and watch.
Back inside our hotel room, we had great views of the Bellagio fountains! The water show would go off every 15 minutes. Our hotel room was on the 37th floor so we had amazing views!
Our entire wall of windows.
In the morning, we headed down to the pool to relax in the Vegas sun.
The Vdara is connected to the Bellagio, so we walked over to see the gardens.
After checking out of our hotel, we headed back to my family's home to have a birthday dinner for Jordan! My Mom made exactly what Jordan requested and even had a delicious fresh strawberry pie! Such a great way to end a fun weekend!
