Coupon-ing is my new hobby. I first started using coupons when Jordan and I got married and we got the Sunday newspaper. I would cut out a few, nothing serious. However, lately I have gotten quite obsessive. (I think it's because of that 'Extreme Coupon' show). I honestly won't buy anything unless it's on sale, and I have a coupon. But, IT PAYS OFF!
For instance, this receipt is from tonight's shopping trip at Ralphs. Spent $32.94, and saved $36.12. That's 52% savings!
I always try to save at least 50%. However, my new thing is trying to get things for free. Or even better, making money for buying things... :) For instance, this week at CVS they had toothpaste on sale for $2.77 and with each purchase you got an in-store credit for $2.77. So, you get it for basically free right? Well, I had a manufacture coupon for $0.75.... so I made $0.75 and got free toothpaste!! I have at least a dozen more stories like this, but I won't bore you :)
It's been so fun making a game out of mundane chores such as grocery shopping! If I could shop for people as my full time job, I totally would.
(I know my sister Alicia is gasping at the fact that I used "fun" and "grocery shopping" in the same sentence... :) )
